AUTHOR'S POV
"What weather!" Trisha muttered, looking at the dark clouds gathering above Delhi. "At this rate, the entire city is going to drown today."
She was sitting in the garden right in front of her house, enjoying the cool breeze. Today was her birthday.
Every year, her family arranges a grand celebration. Officially, it was to celebrate their beloved daughter. Unofficially, it was also a reminder to their competitors of exactly how powerful the Sharma family was.
After all, Mr. Ravi Sharma was one of Delhi's most respected industrialists and the CEO of Sharma Ltd.
Her phone rang for the fifth time.
Mom.
"Ji, Mom?"
"Kahan ho, madam? At least aaj ke din toh ghar par raho."
"Maa, aap aise keh rahi ho jaise main roz ghar se bahar rehti hoon," Trisha complained.
"Haan haan, bahut shareef ho tum. Ab jaldi ghar aao. Party ke liye ready bhi hona hai."
Trisha smiled but didn't reply.
Unlike most girls, she never enjoyed extravagant birthday celebrations. She preferred simple moments, close friends, and peaceful conversations.
Unfortunately, being Ravi Sharma's daughter didn't leave much room for simplicity.

Sharma Mansion
The mansion looked like a bride dressed for her wedding.
Fresh flowers are decorated in every corner. Crystal lights illuminated the pathways. The grand staircase was wrapped in white roses and fairy lights.
"This is my daughter's twenty-second birthday. Pay attention to your work, not your gossip," Ravi Sharma instructed the workers.
"Sab ho jayega. Aap tension mat lijiye," his wife said, trying to calm him down.
Mrs. Anamika Ravi Sharma.
Elegant, graceful, and impossibly beautiful. Nobody could guess her age just by looking at her.
The moment Trisha entered the hall, she stopped in her tracks.
"Wow..."
Ravi turned toward her.
"Kaisa laga, beta?"
She looked around in amazement.
"Papa, it's beautiful. It looks like heaven."
A proud smile appeared on his face.
"HAPPY BIRTHDAY, beta."
He gently patted her head.
"Hamesha khush rehna."
A warmth spread through Trisha's heart.
"Thank you, Papa. It means a lot."
Before the emotional moment could continue, Anamika intervened.
"Ab chal. Ready bhi hona hai."

TRISHA'S POV
Seventeen years.
It's been seventeen years, and I am still waiting.
Waiting for someone whose name I don't even know.
All I have is an old photograph.
He was just a little boy in that picture, but there was something about his eyes.
Something that refused to leave me alone.
Every time I looked at that photograph, it felt as if those eyes were watching me back.
And somehow...
I kept falling in love with a memory.
By now, he must be my age.
My phone suddenly rang.
"Hello?"
Before I could say anything else-
"HAAAAAPPPYYY BIIIRRTHHHDAAYYYY TRISHAAAAAA!"
I immediately pulled the phone away from my ear.
"Arre! Mere kaan ke parde phaad diye tune."
Sanjana laughed.
"Aur tujhe ab time mila birthday wish karne ka?"
"Sorry, babe. Aaj meri aur Rehana ki extra class thi. Aur tujhe pata hai na hamara Geography wala teacher kitna khadoos hai."
"Bilkul!" Rehana's voice came from somewhere in the background. "Aaj toh humein itna daanta usne."
Trisha couldn't help but laugh.
"Okay, okay. Bas tum dono time se party mein aa jana."
"Don't worry. We'll be there."
After ending the call, Trisha finally got ready.
She wore a beautiful silver-blue gown. The fabric shimmered softly under the light, flowing elegantly around her.
Leaving her hair open, she accessorized with a diamond necklace, matching studs, and her favorite wristwatch.
Simple.
Elegant.
Perfect.
By the time she came downstairs, it was already seven in the evening.
The invitations had clearly mentioned five.
And her friends were still nowhere to be seen.
Typical.
